An Outdoor Spring Wedding – Our First Styled Shoot!
I can’t tell you how excited and glamorous it made me feel when Jennifer Jane (the creative lead and photographer) organised our first ever styled shoot! Remember, I used to be a primary school teacher – and style, to me, was getting through the day without glue, paint or white board marker ink not being smeared all over me! These gorgeous shots were taken at an outdoor spring wedding styled shoot – the first that we ever hosted, and before we had actually opened! I didn’t really know what to expect, so kept myself looking busy rattling coffee mugs in the back ground.
Boho-Luxe Style for a Spring Wedding
The luxury in this was defo in all the extravagant floristry. Look at these stunning blush pink details with the gorgeous pops of raspberry in the roses! I quizzed Zoe, the florist, about all the greenery – and most of it here is eucalyptus – and it makes me want to grow at least one eucalyptus tree in the cutting garden! Zoe had boxes and boxes of greenery and flowers and made styling the wedding table look effortless as there were no vases to worry about. I am normally a ‘daisies in a jam jar’ kind of gal – but this has me rather smitten! The vintage style glasses and and the twisted linen napkins also hint at luxury, don’t you think?
Outdoor Wedding Photos in the Soft Spring Sunshine
It makes me happy when a spring wedding day is full of lovely soft sunshine – the perfect conditions for outdoor spring wedding photos! Lia’s lace wedding dress – with its gauzy fabric – so romantic and floaty, looks just gorgeous. An absolute dream! We were lucky on the day, but to be super comfy all day at your own outdoor spring wedding, you may need a canny layer of a silky camisole. A bit more glam than thermals! But look at the light in these shots. Don’t you love the just bursting bright green buds on the willow trees – and the soft fuzz of background brightness!
Be Inspired by Nature and Connect with Outside
I loved how both the bouquet and the wedding cake had hidden details of nature. Can you spot the pheasant feathers? Not limited to spring, of course, but including these little details will give you both so much pleasure. If you are really blessed, you could even have a picnic – and even eat outside. Get some rugs and cushions – and you will be all set! I want you to really enjoy dreaming about and planning the styling details of your outdoor spring wedding. I hope that the images in this will give you a few to get going. Many thanks to Jennifer Jane who connected with the whole team to get this shoot together.
I’ve also written a blog about planning a festival style wedding as well as one on how to plan a multi-day weekend wedding. Please get in touch and tell me what you would like me to blog about next!
I love the effortless look of the styling – just perfect for your venue.
This boho luxe shoot was the first wedding activity here at Higher Holcombe and it was the lovely Jennifer Jane Photography who styled this shoot and put the whole thing together! Didn’t she do a great job!
